The Decemberists are going on a “Long And Short Of It” tour in late October. They’ll be playing two shows per venue, a long one (highlighting their progressive material) and a short one (same time length, but more of their pop material). Makes perfect sense. Advanced tickets on sale Saturday at noon here.

For those of you that grew up watching Powell & Peralta classics such as Public Domain, Ban This and Propaganda, you already know that Chuck Treece, aka McRad, is the cat’s fucking pajamas of Skate Rock. After years in hiding, Chuck Treece is back with “FDR,” McRad’s new full-length record that pretty much kills it in every way, shape and form. Speedy, with riffs reminscent of Bad Brains’ early days–the album holds the same amount of intensity, and raw Skate Rock ruggedness that drew fans to McRad’s side way back in 1988. Buy this album, rent Thrashin’ and set up a 10 inch wide board asap. McRad’s back and laying down the motherfuckin’ laybacks, son!
