The old homies at the fork recently unearthed this Black Lips Veni Vedi Veci remix by Diplo. For a taste of how it goes down when the Black Lips aren’t making booties shake, check out our Fight Club feature with bassist Jared Swilley from issue 48 here!
The good folks at Habitat are a little short on hard drive space so they’re about to delete all of their field logs. In light of said predicament, however, they have them all up for download to your ipod here. Cop it while it’s hottt!
Nike is killing it with these Terminator and Vandal colorways, but who wants kicks that look like the neighborhood junkie already balled in them? (more »)
Remember Drag-On? Sure you do. Well Swizzy, miracle worker that he is, actually found him (God knows where) and made him sound interesting again! It did take a Ghostface banger to resurrect him, but I’ll be damned if this shit don’t hit hard. This kinda makes me think Swizz could save DMX, but on second thought, no.
Taking a page out of Cam’ron’s book, Kaws, Neckface, and Faile are auctioning off a painted ‘96 Dodge Ram 3500 on ebay. The bidding starts at six and a half stacks, but if you have that to spend on a van that, “would need work to bring it up to solid drivable condition,” you’re probably more of an art collector than a dude looking for new wheels. “To all you ball squeezers on the internet, bootlegging tapes, fuck you”, Bobbito pronounced as he introduced Yak Ballz’s “True City Killerz” on 89.9’s famous CM Familam radio program. (more »)

NYC skate company Rockstar Bearings, founded by Adrian Lopez and the late, great Harold Hunter, is getting ready to release their newest DVD “America Eats It’s Young,” which borrows it’s title from an old Parliament Funkadelic album. Showcasing the team for the first time in five years, Rockstar does Parliament justice, opening the film with a demonic Uncle Sam eating a young skater. Notable appearances from Robert Lopez-Mont, Luis Tolentino, Dustin Charlton, Phil Ladjanski and Leticia Bufoni also make “America Eats It’s Young” more than worth the price of admission.
Once again, the warm-hearted party animals of No1sDoneItRight are throwing a jamboree for charity. Wednesday, 1/23, they’ll be at Boucarou (64 1st st) for a sound clash of sorts featuring baile funk, hip hop, and electro. As always, N.O.D.I.R. parties with a purpose with the proceeds ($5 before 10pm, more after) going straight to the CuCu Foundation (underprivileged Kenyans) and F.L.O. Humanity (orphans around the world). Manning the wheels are DJ Cassiano (N.O.S.S.A), Lets Go To War, and the criminally underrated Melo-X. The open bar is an early bird special (9-10), but free is free, right? Right?
