Besides being the birthday of the legendary James Brown (The Godfather!), this Saturday May 3rd, there is another event worth celebrating. Fuse gallery plays host to Sweet City Woman, an all female art show featuring esteemed graf artist and former Mass Appeal art director, Queen Andrea. Fuse is located at 92 2nd Ave between 5th and 6th streets.

These days, Red Bull is powering a lot more than last minute cramming sessions and bachelorette parties. They’ve amasssed a pretty sick skate team, who will be putting on a demo this Saturday in Sayersville. If you make it out, tell ‘em Mass Appeal sent ya. It won’t get you (or us) anything, but at least they’ll know you’re down with the kings. Also brought to you by the most underrated little skateshop in the tri-state area, NJ Skateshop.

In some more news regarding our super sick wid it 50th issue, this weekend there’s a prime opportunity to re-up on some oh so dope Pegleg wears.

Aside from all the merchandise, there will be live DJ’s, drinks, and a customized photo booth. Photos from the event will be collected for a portrait feature on the PEGLEG NYC’s website. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

This Wednesday, the always charitable vixens of N1DIR have another soiree to nourish your party appetite and build up your philanthropic resume. LES fail-safe The Delancey will be opening up it’s roof for a mix of fashion and music with performances by Mickey Factz and Heavy. This one’s for the early birds with doors opening at 8. The damage is a 5-spot, but the proceeds go to charity.

Alas, spring is upon us and that means warmer weather, more squirrels, and dope hip hop shows. Speaking of which, Network Edutainment Group has an especially ill line-up at the Knitting Factory this evening, headlined by Queens emcee, Loj. Don’t let the rave-like flier fool you. This is hip hop at it’s rawest.

NYC, you are some lucky ducks this week. Immediately following what will easily be the greatest party of 2008 thus far, the incorrigible Devin The Dude will be at Studio B with the homie Despot. Fall through and burn one with ya boy.

This Thursday, April 10th it goes down! We haven’t had a proper release in some months so all that built up tension is guaranteed to splash [a good time] all over everyone.
