words Mr. Stephen
Just in time for the Olympics, Nike unveiled their new sportswear line in Beijing, China and invited your boy for a glimpse. Let me be the first (or thousandth) to say, Nike Sportswear is the shit! Well made, classic clothes are a breath of fresh air in this market of over-designed garments. I brought my camera of course, and in addition to taking pictures of the gear and the spaces, I shot everything crazy I saw. Peep some exclusive photos from the trip and check out my blog for more from China and other urban culture explorations. Get up on that Nike Sportswear here.

These limited edish air force ones designed by Busy P of Ed Banger fame should be releasing at privileged boutiques sometime before the end of the month. If you’re as fly as you think you are, you’ll cop these for your girl.

Under normal circumstances, wine and hip hop make for some pretty strange bedfellows, but for the Wale x 10.Deep mixtape release party, the two paired up nicely for a memorable downtown jammy jam. (more »)

busta-rhymes-dont-touch-me-remix-f-reek-da-villian-spliff-star-lil-wayne-nas-the-game-big-daddy-kane.mp3 Busta Rhymes Ft. Reek Da Villian, Spliff Star, Lil Wayne, Nas and Big Daddy Kane
“SleEp0vA PArTy @ BuStA’s” is what I’m assuming the text read inviting all the above homies to jump on the remix for “Don’t Touch Me.” After some back and forth, they probably just resigned to track their verses from home, but with these type of things it’s more about being invited than showing up. Just ask Spliff Star. You can watch the video for the OG version here.

Vans have such classic silhouettes that giving select colorways props is almost a dead issue. Theoretically, any SK8 Hi, Era or Slip-on can rock well with little to no effort. The models included in this “Grey Stone” pack, however, are quite the exception. Just in time for the warmer months, when attitudes improve (temporarily), these Vans are pleasant and inviting. It’d almost be a shame to skate in them. Almost. (more »)

Words: Kel Murphy
If you’re in NYC, more likely than not you’ve been to a party where Melo-X has rocked. He’s opened for hip-hop heavyweights like Clark Kent and 9th Wonder, but for the self proclaimed “renaissance man,” spinning records is just the beginning. Besides moving the crowd via turntables, Brooklyn-born Melo raps, writes songs, photographs, produces and even pimps (yikes). At 22 years old, he cites J-Dilla and Erykah Badu as inspiration for his recent instrumental album, “Dusty Time Warped Vibes.” We recently caught up with the Jack-of-all-trades to talk about the project, why he dissed the Jay-Z on it, and how reggae vibes make him get damn near butt-naked. You can easily be the rawest dude in the club if you hop out in a pair of these classic leathers. And if not, just bust a windmill during the old school set and accidently kick anyone in the face who tried to play you. Wait, you can break-dance right?

With just under a zillion new releases every year, Nike can’t possibly expect to strike gold every time, but when they do, oh boy. These soon to-be-released Court Forces are dripping in Native American influence in the form of patterns, leather laces and even beads. They’re speculated to be releasing sometime before the next harvest moon. (more »)
