Unlike the little homie who sells Jordans at your local Footlocker, skate shop workers are usually able to use their kicks for what they were meant for.  Check out some footy from a couple of Jersey shops competing at the recent Shields Skatepark Showdown.

These days, Red Bull is powering a lot more than last minute cramming sessions and bachelorette parties. They’ve amasssed a pretty sick skate team, who will be putting on a demo this Saturday in Sayersville. If you make it out, tell ‘em Mass Appeal sent ya. It won’t get you (or us) anything, but at least they’ll know you’re down with the kings. Also brought to you by the most underrated little skateshop in the tri-state area, NJ Skateshop.

Chris Pastras is known by gallery crowds solely as a visual artist and Jason Lee is certainly known to most as Earl Hickey, the repentant television thief, but those who have an affinity for wheels mounted under planks of wood, know that the duo is actually doubling as Stereo Sound Agents 547 & o470. While it came as no surprise to many that the X-games killed the vert skating event following a meeting directly regarding it, a few people (most notably vert skaters) are not too happy about it…to the point of a proposed boycott.

This Thursday, April 10th it goes down! We haven’t had a proper release in some months so all that built up tension is guaranteed to splash [a good time] all over everyone. In all the collabos with his counterpart in kush, Method Man, it’s pretty obvious that Redman’s got plenty of love for Staten Island. So much so, that Reggie Noble has opened a new lifestyle store in the forgotten borough, The Richmond Hood Company. The store is slangin’ sneakers, clothes, skateboards and hopefully action figures of the funk doc himself. Richmond is also putting on a raffle where the first place winner can bring home any pair of sneakers from the store, once a month, for the rest of ‘08! Check out the trailer for the Beautiful Losers movie, showing next month at South By South West. The movie looks to explore the connections between some of our favorite artists and the cultures that birthed them. As we won’t be at SXSW for it’s premiere, well have to give you a review when the DVD drops.
